CONCOCTED LANDSCAPES investigate the concoction of entities and landscapes.

VENTURING WILD investigate the pursuit of the unknown and the limits of chaos in the interaction between entities and paper.

THE CONCOCTED ENTITY SERIES. This series gathers “wanderlust elements”: stags, masks, islands, nomad rugs, pathways and meeting points. The coincidental concoction of elements and structure takes place within a willful setting. Each piece becomes an object with a distinct and independent existence, an entity.

RETURN TO THE TERRITORY is a site-specific assignment made for Clausholm Castle in Denmark. The artist’s fascination with “wanderlust” and its opposite, the desire to belong, is already present in the title. The pieces all center on the same stag, which through a both coincidental and conscious process is made a differentiated individual.

PATHWAYS IN PATHWAYS OUT marks the beginning of Berit Førland’s present production. It can be seen as a personal journey within coincidence and willfulness. Interchanging pathways and meeting points allow something to emerge from nothing.
